What to see within Ephesus ancient city: Once a Roman harbour city on the Aegean cost, now located about 5 miles away from the sea, you’ll be amazed to see the Harbour Bath and the Harbour Gymnasium.

As the ancient city had been under attacks over years, it was protected by The Hellenistic Wall with three entrances through the gates of The Magnesian Gate, the Koressos Gate and the Harbour. Since it was founded in the 10th century BC as one of the Greek colonies, and had been invaded by several emperors and kingdoms, it was influenced by many cultures and religions.
Therefore the city had temples such as Temple of Isis, Temple of Domitian, Temple of Hadrian, Temple of Serapis as well as basilicas and churches such as The Double Churches and the Early Christian Basilica.
